OK Kosher Certification supervises all baking at the By the Way Bakery commissary kitchen in Pleasantville, New York. The By the Way Bakery commissary produces all of the baked goods sold in all of the By the Way Bakery retail shops. Click on this link to review the kosher certificate for the commissary.

OK Kosher does not supervise our retail locations. Instead, local Rabbis conduct periodic site inspections of our stores to ensure that only baked goods baked in the commissary are sold in the stores. Learn more about these inspections here.

You can also purchase a limited number of items in our shops that are in sealed packaging bearing the OK Kosher symbol. In addition, you can order in advance and request that any item on the By the Way Bakery menu arrive at the shop in sealed packaging bearing the OK symbol. (We require two days’ notice to “Kosher Seal” the box.) Pre-packaged items sealed in our commissary kitchen in Pleasantville are the only items that are certified by OK Kosher.

NOTE: When placing an order in person for future pickup, please let our store staff know that you'd like the baked goods "Kosher Sealed".

When ordering online, add “Kosher Sealed” to the order notes, and select “Kosher Seal All Items” by scrolling to the bottom and checking the box that pops up when you add an item to your cart. Unless the items are regularly sent to our stores pre-packaged (cookie bags and certain specialty cakes), we require two days’ notice to seal the box. We look forward to baking for you!
